Lecture 1: Big Data & IRIS Registry

Objectives:
Upon completion of this activity, attendees should be able to:

  • Discuss what Big Data actually is, and what information it can provide
  • List three Big Data sets available in vision and ophthalmology research and their advantages
  • Review the advantages, challenges, and pitfalls of Big Data

Lecture 2: Making eye health a population health imperative

Objectives:
Upon completion of this activity, attendees should be able to:

  • Name the three important impacts of the vision impairment as a major public health issue
  • List the core actions and strategies required for promoting vision health in the United States

How to Participate:

WAEPS members should register for each session in the series by contacting the WAEPS office: [email protected] at least four hours prior to the program. They may also log into their WAEPS member account via the website and register online. Those wishing to participate via webinar will be provided with that month’s login information. To claim CME credit for any of the sessions in this series, please download the credit claim form from the WAEPS website’s Monthly Meeting page and keep track of the sessions you attend. Be sure to submit that form to the WAEPS office no later than May 31, 2017. In addition, in-person attendees must sign in at each session to have their participation verified and receive credit. Note that WAEPS membership is required in order to claim credit for the series.
