The Washington Academy of Eye Physicians and Surgeons presents an annual meeting which is attended by approximately 180 ophthalmologists as well as approximately 700 ophthalmic personnel, practice managers and coding professionals. The physician program, which begins on Thursday night, March 29 and continues with a full day program on Friday, March 30, is rich and diverse.

The 2019 line-up of outstanding guest faculty for the physician program is as follows:

Physician dinner with CME program: 7 to 9:30 p.m.

Friday, March 30, 2018

Physician program continues 8 a.m. to noon and reconvenes 2 p.m. to 5:15 p.m.

  • Continental breakfast and registration open at 7 a.m.
  • Physician CME program with short presentations by our four guest lecturers throughout the morning from 8 to noon and continuing after the WAEPS annual members’ business meeting and luncheon.
  • The day finishes with the President's Reception at 5:15 p.m.
  • Breaks offer the opportunity to visit with commercial and non-profit exhibitors

Accreditation Statement

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of the Washington State Medical Association and the Washington Academy of Eye Physicians and Surgeons. The WSMA is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The WSMA designates this live activity for a maximum of 8.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

This activity meets the criteria for up to 8.75 hour(s) of Category I CME credit to satisfy the relicensure requirements of the Washington State Medical Quality Assurance Commission.

Reciprocal society members

WAEPS has reciprocal arrangements with ophthalmology societies in Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Alaska, and British Columbia. Physicians, providing proof of membership in their respective state and province societies, may register at the Active WAEPS Member rate. Overnight accommodations

A discounted hotel room block has been reserved for our conference participants at the brand new  “Seattle Marriott Bellevue” (located an easy two block walk from Meydenbauer Center in downtown Bellevue).  The room block (available until March 6, 2019) is limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.  The rate is $189 and discounted parking has also been negotiated.  To go directly to the special reservation page for our group, click here.

We encourage participation by all individuals. If you require accommodations, please notify Kim Conn at the WAEPS office at 206-956-3650 at least two weeks prior to the conference. Advance notification is essential in order for us to serve you better. Note that our conference venue is fully accessible and ADA compliant.

Other attendee needs
Moms needing access to our “pump room” during breaks should contact staff at the registration desk upon arrival at the venue.
Special dietary needs? Indicate these on your registration form or contact us via phone or email at least two weeks ahead of time and we’ll do our best.

Cancellations

Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing. There is a $50.00 fee for cancellation before March 2, 2018. There are no refunds for cancellations after March 1, 2019.
